Gloucester

Anyone know anything about this place. According to google maps its not too far from birmingham and I understand I am showing my complete ignorance here but does anyone live here of know much about it.

Reason being I have been offered a job here and want to know what the city is like.

Depends on your definition of not too far.... it is about 60 miles south of Brum - an hour down the M5.

Lovely part of the country. Lived near there for a few months (Forest of Dean).

it's about half way between where I live (Somerset) and Birmingham. That's all I know  oh and they have a fairly decent rugby team, although not as good as Bath :P

If it's only an hour, you should honestly go visit the city. Then ask all the locals you want and see for yourself. In the US an hour drive isn't much!

Wierd.

I live in Birmingham and THAT is a shithole.

Passing through Gloucester always looks very nice, peaceful and picturesque
