  1. Villa vs Fulham

I have installed some ads via adsense, to generate some money towards upkeep of the site. This is probably what was happening.
  2. Villa vs Fulham

It was another one of them games where we could have capitulated after the equaliser but, have to say a great three points. Chances before and after Terry's opener, should have consolidated a convincing first half result but, we didn't take our chances and then dallying on the edge of the box cost us. Although Fulham had possession, they didn't control the game and apart from two stunning saves from Johnston, they didn't do much in the final third. We had a few nervy moments but, Fulham are decent at attacking and very decent away from home... attacking them and controlling possession would have been a dangerous game plan with their pace... I think Bruce got this one right! Now for the big one!
  3. Sink Or Swim?

Just when you’re in your comfort zone with Villa, and their form and positivity overflows from your veins, we have a moment like we did on Saturday evening where a sudden injection of realism slaps you straight in the face and knocks you for six. Wolves played well and looked the best ‘unit’ of all teams that we have faced so far this season, but that doesn’t nullify the fact that we lost in every department and looked devoid of direction, attitude and togetherness. Let’s not go for the wrists just yet though, we did go nine games unbeaten and are still a whisker away from the playoff positions… despite not setting the world alight. The problem is we should be setting the world alight, and apart from Barnsley away, we haven’t controlled enough of the ball so far this season to breed that undying confidence! Don’t forget, this is the second tonking that we have received by a team in the top 6, Cardiff away still leaves painful scars. We head into the weekend looking for a positive result to take into the Birmingham derby the following Sunday. Fulham’s form though has peaked recently, going four unbeaten and looking a threat, mainly due to Jokanovic’s positive approach to life in the capital. Suggestions that this will be an easier game are fantasy, if anything, this result has more pressure on it then any that have proceeded. This is Bruce’s’ chance to either prove that the Wolves result is a blip or that we have slipped back into our nervy ways. Either way, facing Cotterill’s rejuvenated Blues team the week after will not be the time for hesitance. A derby is always an unpredictable affair, but being nestled in the top six will take away a lot of the nerves pre-match. So let’s show our statement of intent Steve. Set up to beat Fulham, let’s not worry about their strengths, and get the result we need!

  5. Match Thread: Wolves Vs Villa (5pm)

Bruce doesn't trust different formations or styles of play. It's evident the players don't feel overly comfortable in his formations or style of play. I have to say, the lack of speed in midfield is ultimately what hurt us most again Wolves, that dynamic element.. being able to mixed things us... just wasn't apparent. Maybe it's the wake up call we needed before going into a difficult couple of months. I think he (Bruce) has done well to steer the ship into calmer waters but this is now HIS team, with HIS ethos installed, playing HIS way.... and we are lacking ideas. 100% needs to convincingly beat Fulham on Saturday.
  6. As always, please keep all pre-match, live and post match chatter in here. A big game for both sides, for Villa, the chance to put some real pressure on this seasons front runners and for Wolves a chance to consolidate their title hopes. For me, I can see a draw written all over this. Bruce will play a five man midfield and try and hit them on the break and it will be interesting as we rarely play a team that will be attacking us from the off, rather than sitting behind the ball and trying to frustrate us! Score draw 1-1.

  8. Aston Villa vs Bolton match thread

Referee was poor today. You could tell within minutes that he was biased and he just got worse and worse. The standard in this league is poor. Kodjia had to take that penalty after not squaring it to Adomah moments earlier and getting battered by the Holte for being greedy. Great defensive display... we would have lost that twelve months ago.

  10. Desktop site down

I pulled out from partnering with Villa View because they accepted initial investment from myself and then didn't involve me in things going forward. So I removed all their content and blocked them. I'm going to stick with it now, so will invest more time once I've got to grips with the new software.
  11. Burton Albion Vs Aston Villa match thread

Great start, free of any mistakes and three well taken goals. Add to the goal difference Villa!
  12. Villa vs Forest

Although the goals came against the run of play, both goals were great and well taken. That front three of Kienan, Adomah and Kodjia could potentially be the catalyst for automatic promotion. Some of the play was great to see, and hopefully that continues to flourish. We just need to learn to not panic when other teams have a chance, it could have easily went to 1-2 if Johnson didn't get as secure a touch as he did and it was basic defending... of which we've been excelling at!

Sorry guys, have to admit.. I haven't spent nearly enough time on here and communication/ direction has of course waned. I have invested in new software this month, beefed up the security and hope to make it a little bit more aesthetically pleasing. The month downtime was partial due to hackers, who continually tried to delete content and wreck havoc, this was dealt with and I've since invested in sitelock and SSL certification. I've had two girls the last few years, coupled with job promotions and relocations, it's not been the easiest of times to allocate time. Deepest apologies and I'm extremely grateful to those of you who have stuck around.
  14. Aston Villa vs Derby County match thread

We shackled Derby for most of the game, I think their first proper shot was towards the last ten minutes of the game. Possession isn't everything but it's the manner in which we just give the ball back stupidly. Especially towards the end, you would think alleviating the pressure would have been paramount but we kept inviting them on with sloppy passes. Besides that, a much needed 3 points to take into tomorrows clash with Bristol.
  15. Villa v Man City thread

Micah Richards is the perfect example of why we are struggling. Does not want to play right back, was put to right back and instantly put the brakes on. How many times did he have acres of space to run into on the right and he just stood there? How many times did he let Sterling run behind him through onto goal?.... This is a man who has been entrusted to lead our club and drag us through the game, leading by example. Yet he can't be arsed to give the extra yard, out of principle.... and the management, hierarchy have put up with this for several years, with several different players. We except shithouses, acting like shithouses to the detriment of our great club. I hope, when we get relegated, these useless, lazy, pitiful excuses of professional football players piss off and we get players in who want to put 110% in, regardless of preferred position....
